Meet Lily
Hey Guys! I'm Lily, age 15, and from Oregon. I am a member of the 2023 Flight Crew, designed to get young girls excited STEM.
STEM is important to me because it is that something that makes me feel creative and really focuses on those hands-on learning experiences that make science and math so enjoyable. In 2nd grade, I discovered how much I really appreciated STEM and it makes me feel innovative in my life. STEM gives me this exciting feeling of hope and love for wanting to learn something new.
For future plans, I aim to attend Oregon State University to get a Master's degree in Astronomy or Mathematics, and then a Ph.D to achieve my dream of becoming an astrophysicst for NASA. Currently, I am a student leader for the GSOSW (Girl Scouts Of Oregon and South Washington) Astronomy Club.
We have hosted STEM days, star parties, and science days all to get young girls excited about STEM. With my high school, I am a part of Science National Honors Society and will soon host community events in local schools, such as science fairs. This will really get kids of all ages excited about STEM.
