New Mexico Spotlights Flight Crew

New Mexico local news features recently selected Flight Crew member, Maya Gomez.

Excited about the ‘one in a million’ chance to represent the state in youth advocacy for afterschool STEM learning, Maya looks forward to sharing her afterschool experiences with robotics and technology.

“(Girls) are kind of pushed to be hair salon people and nurses, but we’re not really pushed to be scientists — at least not till recently,” Maya tells the Valenica County reporter. “I think it’s good for more diverse opinions to be in your company, especially in something like engineering, because it’s a team-based type of work environment.”
