Meet Hakima

I am Hakima, I was born in Kenya. I currently live in Buffalo, New York. I am a member of the 2023 Flight Crew. I was 7 years old when my family moved to the United States. My love for STEM started in 5th grade. I joined a Rocketry club where I learned how to design, and fly a 36” model rocket and maintain details of the rocket design in an engineering notebook. STEM is important to me because it teaches me more about science and mathematics concepts. In my free time, I enjoy reading and journaling. I am also a founder member of the Providence Farm Collective Book Club for Girls. My plans for the future are to study civil engineering because I love anything hands-on.
