Meet Phoenix

Hi! I'm Phoenix and ever since I was small, I've wanted to go into space. I’ve been fascinated by its mystery and beauty. When it comes to space exploration, not many people are chosen to go. It is only for very smart, hard-working, and talented individuals. I've always been told that it probably won't happen for me since I often learn slower than my peers, and to get a backup plan for when I don't get in.

As my confidence grew with age I decided to not let the opinion of others stop me. I decided to work harder and find new ways to learn. I changed into a STEM school and I've joined the Civil Air Patrol program which taught me all about flight, aerospace, and allowed me to fly planes! – Now I feel like I'm finally on track to be able to accomplish my dreams and that's why I'm so happy to be a part of the Million Girls Moonshot 2023 Flight Crew.
